With the matches between the top 16 coming to a conclusion. We have some exciting matches being lined up for the quarter finals. The match that a large number of viewers are looking forward to is a big matchup between two strong medal contenders Shane van Boening (USA) and Joshua (GER).

But as we look back at the top 16 a great performance by Aden Joseph is making his fellow countrymen proud. Despite being on the losing end of the match, he faced a fierce opponent, Two-time World Champion, Albin Ouchan (2016 and 2022), The final result will see Albin Ouchan coming out the victor in a close encounter, with the score finishing on 11 – 8.

This is a great permformance by a young man (Aden), and in his own words “we will be seeing him again”.

Another worthy perfomance was that of Filler, after trailing 6 – 10 to his opponent, Tyler Styer. Filler showed an incredible amount of heart by winning 5 frames in a row to shock Styer and take the match.

Albin, if he can overcome his next opponent, Carlo Biado, will be facing the winner of the match between van Boening and Filler, which will also be an exciting match.

In the Women’s draw, we saw medal favourite,  Kelly Fisher makes reasonably quick work of her match against Chitra Magimairaj, winning 9 – 3. But another interesting match was between a legend of Women’s 9Ball, Jennifer Barretta, and the lesser-known Brittany Bryant, with the latter showing that she will be a force to be reckoned with. After the match went to hill-hill, Bryant was able to win the deciding frame and move to the next round.

We also saw Yuki Hiraguchi and Oliwia Zalewska making quick work of their matches and progressing to the next round.

Please keep an eye out for more updates.
